Name the problem

Write one sentence about what you want to change: less clutter on the vanity, easier laundry or airflow at your desk. If the product does not solve that problem, save it for later.

Measure the friction

Think about charging, washing, storage, refills and setup. A clever gadget that adds a weekly chore may be less useful than a simple alternative.

Separate popularity from fit

Best-seller lists change. They show shopping activity, not suitability for your needs. Read selected-variant details, seller information and return terms before placing an order.

Use a budget ceiling

Set a ceiling for the whole purchase including accessories and ongoing supplies. Our budget tool lets you allocate your own amounts; it does not show current Amazon prices.

Give it a pause

For a nonessential purchase, save the item and revisit it later. Useful upgrades should survive a second look. No countdown timer is required.
